Sammy is a Greenwing Macaw.
Greenwing Macaws are also known as Red & Green Macaws.
The only species of Macaw larger than Greenwings are Hyacinth Macaws
Being such large parrots, these birds were made to live in the wild.
Unfortunately, these magnificent birds are bred for captivity.
In the wild, their numbers are dwindling, but Eco-Tourism can help.
